Professional Inspector - Construction Consultant - Certified Professional Mediator I have been involved in the Home Improvement Industry, building new homes and remodeling existing structures, on many levels for over 29 years. This experience ranges from retail lumber yard management to currently holding a TREC Professional Inspector License. As an ICBO Certified Building Inspector, I have been involved in performing inspections, forensic analysis, estimating, project management, preparation of repair methods and procedures, and the preparation of report documentation. International Code Council - ICC Certified Building Inspector, #5057120-10. Certified Professional Mediator. Experience: John P. Gehring Construction Consulting (February 2003 to Present) My experience with Myles F. Corcoran evolved into working independently in Construction Management and litigation cases. I have acted as the Construction Expert and Expert Witness on behalf of both Plaintiff and Defense. Myles F. Corcoran Construction Consulting, Inc. (May, 2000 to June, 2005) My experience with Myles F. Corcoran includes all aspects of Construction Consulting from project management to full case litigation processes. I have acted as the Construction Expert in over 70 projects, including Arbitration and Mediation experience. Elite Builders, May 1988 to November 2005): I have built custom homes ranging from 1,700 to 3,500 square feet as well as having constructed hundreds of remodeling projects. Therefore, I am familiar with nearly every component that goes into a home, as well as its proper installation. I am familiar with the local building codes involving both new construction and remodeling. I have dealt with many unique situations with full hands on experience from drawing the blueprints to the completion of these projects. Wausau/Sterling Homes Inc., April 1984 to May 1988: Wausau Homes is a modular home manufacturer, while Sterling Homes is a custom component home manufacturer. During the four years working in this eight acre manufacturing facility, I was the Estimating Manager. These years gave me experience in a wide range of design and estimating challenges encompassing nearly 1,000 estimates per year in both residential and commercial applications. Menard Inc., May, 1976 to April, 1984: Menard Cashway Lumber is a chain of retail Home Improvement Centers where I learned the materials and mechanics of home improvement. I was promoted to Assistant General Store Manager over this eight year period. Menard Inc. also operates a truss manufacturing facility and a wood treatment operation, giving me exposure to roof design and foundation structure as well. The company policy of monthly training seminars gave me the opportunity to tour and learn from the facilities of many of the product suppliers. These included the manufacturers of doors and windows, insulation, roofing, fasteners, carpet and vinyl flooring, paints, kitchen cabinets, sawmill and plywood operations.
